The problem...

My name is Head Bitty and I have a problem. I am addicted to Technology. Laugh if you must, it's true. I have 3 Palm devices (electronic organizers) each one was an upgrade from the first. The last one I got on EBay it's very, very cool. After my lucky win, I proceeded to scout out a leather case to go with it. Got one. I use it a lot actually, it complements my paper organizer quite nicely. Yes, I have a paper-based planner as well. I'm addicted to those as well. I have a variety of leather, vinyl, pleather, fabric planner binders and an assortment of pages in different sizes and configurations. Let's go back to my tech addiction for a moment. A friend of mine just got a Bell HTC (it's an amazing touch screen telephone, organizer, mp3 player, downloading, video-viewing master of technology) He let me touch it, I was the first one (other than himself) to see it. It was truly a 'moment' for me. Ever since, I have wanted one desperately (thanks so much LJS, darn you!) I have searched high and low, EBay, Telus, Bell everywhere...and no thanks, can't justify spending $400+ for one and can't break my current cell phone contract for another 1 1/2 years. So....I was sad. But all was not lost. I spent a few days scouring EBay for something else....I had to have technology...HAD TO HAVE IT. Found a lovely BlackBerry (another techy item that I have always, always wanted) I need to mention, I didn't need it...I have a cell phone and I have an electronic organizer (several) but I wanted it...HAD TO HAVE IT. I began my descent into EBay bidding to try to get this beautiful black, bright screened, QWERTY-boarded beasty. I won it. Shocking, I know. ( I also incidentally, use EBay to get a lot of my daughters clothes, we've gotten some beautiful things for very little money!) There, I had done it. Gotten my gadget! I was proud as punch, but alas, now...I had to accessorize. I continued my descent even further...searching for leather covers, screen protectors, plastic cases...all in an effort to protect my new purchase. There, before the BidNow button had even cooled from my earlier adventure I had accessorized my soon to be BlackBerry.

It is a sickness. I know. I'm also addicted to handbags/purses, but that is another post altogether. I also have 2 laptops and a desktop computer. I have had a total of 8 computers since I was 16, a mere 10 years ago ;O). Upgrading, not because I had to but because I HAD to. I have had several digital cameras as well. The first one I purchased when they first came out, it actually saved photos onto a floppy disk. It was over $1600 at the time. Still takes great pictures. I am now on my 5th one and just the other day was toying with upgrading because mine doesn't have Face Finder technology. Oy.

I know...I need help, perhaps an intervention, although my husband is usually pretty good about putting up the occasional kibosh, however he also knows when to just let it go and let me get my 'fix'. Perhaps I need to find a new addiction, in the meantime...I'll sit back and wait for my BlackBerry and accessories. When it arrives I'll be sure to plan to take digital photos and upload them to my hot pink lap top....
