Gretta the Betta

Ok, so we've had fish before. Many fish. Tiny fish that were supposed to pass on quickly to prepare our tank for the actual fancy fish we wanted. These tiny fish didn't do that, they grew and grew for years and years. Finally one by one they moved on to the eternal aquarium and we were no longer interested in fish.

Until recently.

My husband returned from his last week-long training mission with that familiar plastic waterfilled bag in hand. In that bag was Gretta, a common red veil-tail Betta fish, a type of fish we had never had before and so......it began.

The Googling. I am a Googler. I love Google. There I've said it.

So I Googled. Spending every waking moment researching our new house-mate. I joined many forums devoted solely to Betta. I bookmarked dozens of pages and sites and began amassing quite the collection of Betta-friendly items in my cart at Big Al's Aquarium, many of which I ordered. I am now a reference source for all things Betta. Fins, feeding, tanks, temperature, poo... I know about it

It's what I do. I take something and run with it. It's how my business began and continues. It's fun for me to spend hours researching something even if it's trivial. I will search out reviews and articles about things before we buy them. At work I am "the researcher" when in doubt ask me and I'll look it up fifteen different ways. Odd? Perhaps, but my family, the fish and Google are doing fine.

This enlightening post was from my iPod. Neat huh?

I love Google.

Welcome to the neighbourhood, Gretta.

Oh - there is a Bitty Barbie Ballet slipper here that isn't ours.

We have betas - one for each of the children. I may use you as a reference...and a fish-tank-cleaner if you're up for it!
